Parasyte

Parasyte has got to be one of the most surprising shows I've watched this year.
The anime follows the life of Izumi Shinichi, whose right hand had been forcefully taken over by a parasite aptly named 'Migi'. Shinichi struggles to coexist with the new creature that has replaced his hand, Migi's cold and apathetic personality constantly clashing with his own caring and kind-hearted one.
But trying to keep this new secret from getting out may be more difficult than expected when Shinichi finds out that Migi is not alone and that his own kind, dubbed 'Parasites' are  all over Japan.
Parasyte op
Story-wise, I am pleased to say that Parasyte was pretty interesting and kept me guessing. As our main character Shinichi tries to hide his new 'friend' from the people around him, other parasites which have successfully taken over the host (by reaching the brain) also pose a threat to him, since Migi is deemed as a failure of sorts by his own kind.
The pair face many obstacles, and in between Migi's search for truth about his existence and Shinichi's ongoing struggle to survive what comes his way, they meet many dangerous characters ranging from a intelligent parasite and a notorious serial killer.
I like that Parasyte kept me in suspense most of the time, the foreshadowing was done fairly well and there are many emotional moments and amazing action sequences that'll leave your jaw hanging. Seeing as the parasites can take the form of anyone or anything, fights never get boring and the creative use of their shapeshifting abilities was a spectacle to behold.
This is not to say that the anime is without any downsides though, but it isn't anything so remotely bad that it would turn you off before you even started. Parasyte started out slow, but in my opinion it did it's job of creating tension and had good payoffs in the end. While the tone of the show did get draggy and slower toward the end, it didn't take away any enjoyment I'd experienced in the previous episodes!
Shinichi and migi
The characters in parasyte are no pushovers. I like how Migi and Shinichi's personalities  balance each other out. After the first few episodes, I began to realize that Shinichi's reckless and self-sacrificing behaviour is more or less kept in check by the cold and rational Migi. I can't count how many times Shinichi might have gotten himself or someone else killed without the parasite's intervention. But that's not to say that Migi is without his flaws too!
Also, you could also say that Migi is the physical manifestation of Shinichi's consciousness. You know, that nagging voice in the back of your mind, the one that warns you before you pull some stupid shit.
Parasyte is quite dark too. Not like 'Madoka magica' dark, but something comparable to that of 'Psycho pass'. As the anime goes on, I came to see that many of its characters, both antagonists and protagonists, are not bound to the norms of 'morality'. Despite his protests, Shinichi himself operates in a morally grey area, and even the police have questionable ways of trying to rid Japan of parasites.
Parasyte shines because of it's brilliant characters, and most, if not all, are fleshed out during the course of the anime. There are some cliched stereotypes here and there, but that is to be expected. The main thing, is that the characters are not confined to roles of the 'bad guys' or 'good guys'.
combi
Let me just say that Tamura Reiko is my favourite character in Parasyte. She's one of the characters who can keep Shinichi on edge, and the reactions she can get out of him is always a treat. Her social faux passes gave me good laughs time and time again simply because it's so amusing to see a 'superior' species struggle with mundane stuff and saying things weird things out of the blue. There were a few moments in which Tamura Reiko stole the show, and I absolutely adore her for it!
Paraytes
Animation is done by Madhouse and while it's not as gory as some have claimed it is, there is several disturbing moments that made my stomach turn. But fortunately, nothing so utterly horrible that it would scar you for life. I give the anime props in how they designed the parasites; indeed there are generic looking ones but for the most part they vary in looks, and it did creep me out at some points.
Overall: Parasyte was a pleasant surprise. The ending was kinda meh in my opinion but to its credit, it did tie up most of the loose ends and was fairly satisfying.

Your Lie in April

I think I put off this anime for far too long because I was afraid of its ending. I'm sure you know the types I'm referring to; the endings that make your eyes puffy and your noses' stuffed. The type that makes you curl up at night and replaying the scene over and over and hearing your heart break into pieces. But even so, I implore you to watch Your Lie in April.

The story revolves around Arima Kousei, a washed up ex prodigy who used to play the piano. He had been the stuff of legends, but when his mother passed away, everything came crashing down. On the day of his most important piano recital, Kousei suffers a mental breakdown and becomes unable to hear the sound of his piano.  And now, he's stuck in a monotone- colourless world, and unable to move forward. Everything changes when he's roped into accompanying his best friend on a blind date as a 'wingman' of sorts, and there he meets...her. Miyazono Kaori.

The story begins from there, and it's a beautiful yet tragic ride and shows that it is possible for an anime to be funny, yet heartbreaking. Cheerful yet sad. I can draw these parallels all day.

Story : 7/10

For the most part, the story has good pacing, and follows kousei on his journey back into the musical world. The anime sells itself on the romance between him and Kaori, but I feel that is much deeper than that. At it's core, Your Lie in April is a story of self-discovery, and reminds us that we are only human. That it's okay to fall and skin your knees, because what matters in the end is that you pick yourself up and keep going. Kousei's journey was much better than I thought it would be, and watching his journey was like watching a close friend of yours trying to pick themselves up from that dark, dank hole they've fallen in.

Your Lie In April deals with the topic of death, and our darker sides fairly well. It doesn't preach and picks apart the topic tastefully. The only bad things I can nitpick about the plot would be the large amount of foreshadowing. There are many, many scenes where the foreshadowing becomes a little too obvious, and it feels like the creators aren't giving us enough credit to figure it out. Toward the middle of the anime, the plot becomes slightly more predictable, and because of all the foreshadowing, you already know how it will end. Fortunately, none of these takes the excitement out of watching it, and it was still very enjoyable.

Characters : 8/10

The character development for Kousei is phenomenal. He grows from a meek, mild mannered boy to a confident and matured individual. His growth is handled beautifully, and by the time the anime was over, I found myself wishing the best of luck to him. He tries to give up numerous times, but the people around him won't allow it, especially Kaori. And it occurred to me that she's like that friend who constantly pushes you to challenge yourself, to excel, and shows us that sometimes, what we really need is not a a comforting hug, but a great big shove.

As for Kaori, I didn't find her character development as great as Kousei's. But this has more to do with how the anime presents her, an 'mysterious' and 'enigmatic' figure that Kousei can't figure out no matter how hard he tries. And since Your Lie in April plays out from his perspective, we only get to see certain sides of Miyazono Kaori.

There's no supporting character worth mentioning more than Tsubaki. She gets a fair amount of development as well, which is great!. Tsubaki had me rooting for her for almost the entire length of the show, and for good reason. Unlike most of the 'childhood' stereotypes in rom coms of today, she actually takes a stand. Yeah you heard me, she takes a freaking stand. She acknowledges that Kousei is head over heels for Kaori, but she doesn't give up. The best part about it, is that she wasn't horrible about it. Tsubaki didn't try play saboteur to the budding romance between them, and deals with her own set of confusing feelings. There were a few heartbreaking scenes of Tsubaki just trying to deal with the lowest point in her short, teenage life, and it was fan-fucking-tastic.

Music : 10/10

One of the best parts of Your Lie in April was the music score. Oh god the music. There is nothing much to say other than that it was an absolute treat to my ears. Classical music has always been a soft spot for me, and hearing the recitals, piano/violin performances in the anime reminded me of how good this genre could be. It also worked extremely well for setting the mood. One of my favourite songs would be 'Love's sorrow' and it's been on replay ever since I first heard it.

Animation : 10/10

Your lie in april was a feast for my eyes. I have never been more grateful for a good computer monitor until now. The scenery in this anime was glorious, all the colours come to laugh and become more than just that, and how the creators used it here is a testament to how good animation can really be.

The anime had a interesting way of using colours, For example, the character's mood or state of mind were conveyed were conveyed using a brilliant colour palette that just made me go 'wow, I never knew they could do that' with every episode. Overall it was very imaginative and very impressive.

Overall : 9/10

A definite must watch for music lovers, romance enthusiasts, and anyone looking for a anime with a good plot, solid character development and great animation. I will definitely be coming back to watch this again.

Nagi No Asukara

There are just some Animes out there, that can just make you...feel. It's a challenge to stand out in a market saturated by stereotyping and more emphasis on 'moe' 'shonen' 'harems' and 'ecchi' than good story telling and characterizations. Now, I am not saying that there are no good animes, but rather the disappointment that Animes like Nagi No Asukara are few and far between. And its even harder to find such series with impeccable animation, so beautifully animated that you literally feel like you're in it.

First, let's begin with the plot. Goddamn, this series reminds me of why i dislike romance animes with love triangles. The drama never stops (I kid you not) even after several plot twists or revelations. But surprisingly, this is more of a good thing for Nagi No Asukara. The anime is really brilliant in its pacing, and the plot keeps you far more intrigued then you'd ever thought it would. It sure did for me!

I love the setting, and the way they created such a world. The underwater scenes were absolutely breathtaking, and there was just the right amount of folklore and backstories inserted into it, so that it didn't feel dry, nor did it feel like an info dump. The ending wasn't much to speak of, i would say that it clears up some things, but personally, i felt that it wasn't all that satisfying. It varies with different people, so I wouldn't let something as minor as that prevent you from watching it.

Plot gets an (8/10)

Characterizations are well done and go hand in hand with the plot. Although the ending was sort of meh, I must admit that the message Hikari sends is a rather good one, and not to mention interesting. I can't mention it for the sake of spoilers, but I must say that I wholeheartedly agreed to what he said.

One of my favourite characters from Nagi No Asukara would be Chisaki and Hikari. I feel that Chisaki is the embodiment of how love affects people in real life. She is shown to be in love with Hikari at the start, and even after coming to a revelation years later, she delivers a profound message, in that you never really stop loving someone. Even if you are separated, or you begin loving another, ultimately, you will never forget those feelings. Bittersweet yet hopeful, is the words I would use if I had to describe the ups and downs of Chisaki's characterization throughout the anime. Ultimately, I feel that she is a character that people can relate too.

On the other hand, Hikari shows his continuous growth through out the show. From a narrow minded and sheltered boy of the sea, he tries to put aside his resentment gleaned from the older generation toward those who live on the land while trying to come to terms with his feelings for Manaka. Despite not being very realistic, Hikari's growth was by far the most interesting out of the four childhood friends. Of course, the side characters also play an important role in our main character's development, but overall, I loved Chisaki and Hikari's development the most.

Characters get a whopping (9/10) and the only reason it doesn't get full marks from me, is due to the fact that while Manaka was an interesting enough character, i felt that her character development was next to zilch, other than certain revelations and some tinny scenes where she showed how much she had grown.

Animation gets a (10/10) and the score is pretty self explanatory. Just watch one episode, and you'll realize how good the crisp, quality of the scenes are. I felt like this anime was spoiling me, with the amount of beautiful scenes it threw at me at 1080p.

Soundtracks and OSTs also get a (10/10), the openings and endings were phenomenal and there were scenes in which i would close my eyes just to listen to the bgm. If I had to choose, I would say that Nagi no Asukara's soundtracks would top Madoka Magica on my list.

5/5 : Recommended for EVERYONE, regardless of whether you like romance or not. Give it a try, i think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Redline

Redline is the most deadliest racing tournament in the whole galaxy. Racer JP is about to compete in Redline, however he finds himself falling for his racing rival; a beautiful woman named Sonoshee. Basically, that is what the entire movie is about, racing and romance. However, despite the typical cliche story line, it wouldn't be too far off for me to say that this movie, KICKS ASS.

This movie is executed perfectly, the story flows smoothly and there is not a dull moment, The impeccable animation coupled with amazing soundtracks will make this movie a eye opening experience. The animation is done by Madhouse with second key animation by Gainax which assures us that this will be an extremely heart pumping, adrenaline filled film. There is nothing much to say, except that you should be experiencing this for yourself, because Redline cannot be put into mere words.

Redline also consists of a large amount of interesting characters, however the information given to us is minimal, but enough to join the show. Only the main characters get their break and show us pieces of their oh so mysterious past. Personally, i wanted to see more of JP's past but sadly i can only take what i get.

Plot: Typical but better than average. 7/10

Characters: Interesting characters but very superficially explained.7.5/10

Animation: Unqiue and eye catching but top notch.  10/10

Recommendation: Suitable for almost anybody. 5/5

Love Lab episode 1 (The age of yuri is here!!!)

I have been waiting for this! FINALLY! Yeahhhhh!

The long awaited first episode is finally out, and it made some pretty good impressions on me.

For one i am really excited because this is supposedly Yuri, and since there are so few pure yuri animes out there i was naturally excited. However, i hope with all my heart that this series will not become another Candy boy, because i would just go crazy.

The moment i started watching this, i had a good feeling about it. And apparently i was right. The first episode had me laughing all the way through, and the progress between the two protagonists is simply amazing.

The jokes were awesome, and the funniest parts were how the main character messes it up so badly; like holding hands. Is it possible to die of laughter and cuteness? I hope this question gets answers in the next episode. I am seriously looking forward to it. :)

EDIT 17/11/14: I have never been more mislead by an anime series, in my entire life. So not Yuri.

Hataraku Maou-sama

Finished another series, Yay for me!

The 13 episode series was certainly long, in more ways than one. When i first started watching it, i found it refreshing. The comedic sense was good and the characters were certainly a blast to watch as they tried to adjust to their new surroundings.

Maou Sadao is actually the Demon overlord Satan from ente isle, who escapes into the modern world with his sidekick, Ashiya. The first few episodes show how maou gets a job at McRonalds (i laughed when i saw it) and Ashiya becomes a 'male-wife' who does the chores in their itty bitty rental house.

Maou bumps into a red headed girl at the traffic light and lends her his umbrella because of the rain. However, the red-headed girl discovers his identity and turns out to be the Hero who drove Overlord Satan into escaping; Emilia. I don't want to spoil the story for you so i will just summarize the first few episodes. Now for my thoughts on this anime.

Although i had to admit it was interesting, the story became stagnant after the fifth or sixth episode as the characters had already adjusted to their new lives. It tried to revive the story by adding several new characters such as Lucifer and Suzuno, but the plot had already went past the point of no return. I enjoyed the fantasy added into this anime because it spiced it up alot. But to my dismay, there wasn't many action scenes and majority of the episodes revolved around Maou working at McRonalds with Chiho or Emilia constantly checking up on him.

The second last episode started out good....before its bubble popped. One thing i had a problem with was the fact that Maou was ridiculously overpowered. I understand that he is the demon overlord but what use is an evil villain if we all know he's going to be defeated so easily? The fights last for about 2 to 4 mins max.

I have mixed feelings for this anime, however it proved to be a delight and a disappointment. My opinion is that they should have at least sent Maou back to ente isle for one episode instead of repeatedly showing the same thing; He goes to work, Emilia stalks him, they fight, he goes back home OR Bad-guy appears, beats him, Maou gets his powers, thrashes them and goes home.

I would say that the fantasy aspect of this series should have been brought out more, because it got boring midway through. HOWEVER, it was still enjoyable but i wouldn't want to watch it again. Though the fights were freaking awesome.

Plot: The story hits a block. Refreshing at first but downhill after five to six episodes. 6/10

Characters: Pretty developed. They managed to explore Emilia's past, it was really touching.  8/10

Graphics: The fights were cool, but there were too little action scenes. The transformation of Maou was kinda overboard but Emilia's archangel form suited her well. 7/10

Recommendation: It was good, but for those who want a good plot, you better try something else. 3/5

Ore no imouto konna ni kawaii wake ga nai S2

Alright so my close shave (maybe even too close) with the laws of copyrights made me search like crazy for this picture. I've seen it on quite alot of pages so i'm sure its alright.

Alright peeps, this is the second anime that i have finished on a weekly basis which has made me very happy. I found the second season rather well made, and enjoyed it immensely. I hadn't expected it to be this good.

Kyosuke's relationships between kirino and the other girls really improved within the short span of 12 episodes for the second season. Rather than going all the way with the incest route that they could have easily taken (title speaks for itself) the producers really went all the way with the 'harem'.

The second season was definitely more suspenseful then the first and i loved the story more and more as it progressed. Some parts were really surprising and defied my expections. Great job Aniplex and A-1 pictures! The graphics were great too!

I also found it funny how kyosuke was stuck in increasingly embarrassing situations (being caught by their parents) and my favorite one was when he rode a girlishly decorated bicycle to help kirino make it on time for the merumeru stardust witch event. Wearing a suit.I laughed my ass off.

Some of the episodes were sort-of predictable though but who cares. On a side not i especially love the tension between Kuro neko and Ayase. It was hilarious to see both 'dark' forces clash!

Plot: Love it so. Much better than S1 but that is to be expected.10/10

Characters: Need i say more? 8/10

Graphics: Wonderful. As good or better than the first of Oreimo. 9/10

Recommendation: Though the idea of incest might put you off, i can assure that this anime is top notch. While you're at it, go watch the first season! 4/5

Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru

Hey y'all. This series was a nice watch, and it is the first one i finished on a weekly episode basis.

Words that i would use to describe this anime would be cynical, sarcastic, harsh and truthful. I enjoyed it because it was totally different from other animes, and i found it a nice change of pace.

The main character, Hikigaya Hachiman is a isolated loner with no friends who was forced to join a club called the 'neighbors club'. In fact only he and a girl known as the renowned ice-queen, Yukino Yukinoshita are the only members in this club. Both have their own cynical views on their highschool life and are loners, but it is later revealed that they went through unpleasant experiences during their early years thus making them albeit twisted.

The neighbors club take on requests from students in their school which ranges from helping them to bake cookies, detective work and etc.

I especially love how this anime delivers the truth of how relationships work and how hachiman plays the bad guy most of the time. Truthfully i feel kinda sad for him because nobody realizes how much he does for them because he usually solves their problems in a way that only he can solve them. Usually they end up hating him.

The last episode nearly had me in tears because i saw that he was actually broken by what we call 'society' and its norms, forcing him to take on a harsher, more crude personality to cope with how horribly he is treated. He uses this as a defense mechanism.

I can say with a straight face that i want a friend/mentor like him. Hikigaya hachiman doesn't bother to sugarcoat his words, and delivers all who watch this anime his strange theories on relationships backed up by his whacked logic. You can choose whether or not to take his words seriously, but personally i do. I find that the stuff he says is true to a certain extent, but i won't swear by it though.

Keke i think this may be my favourite anime of this season.

Hachiman and Yukino figuring out how to bake. Lol cute.
Plot: Just like any other school life anime, but it felt more interesting because of the characters. 7/10

Characters: I love hikigaya and yukino, they liven up the series by a large margin and i enjoy their own brand of humor. 8/10

Recommendation: 5/5

Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari

Hmm  have i been watching too much anime recently?.....NOPE lets continue!

So many pretty girls!

So i decided to watch some harem anime this time, and i can say that i feel delighted after watching this. I love the mix of fantasy and fighting action but hey! The romance is pretty good too! This is actually a spin-off from Tenchi Muyo! but i decided to just watch this.

This anime is actually rated R17 but before you go running to your burrow or calling me a pervert, this anime isn't really that bad. Sure there are some nude scenes and maybe a little (or alot) sexual innuendo here and there....but i've seen worse in some of the PG13 ecchi animes. Compared to that, this one is like wearing bloomers down at the beach.

Okay, maybe that was a bad visual but you get my point.

Kay moving on.

This series is about a boy who is seemingly transported from an alternate world into the current one. There he receives orders to assassinate the Queen....who is a twelve year old girl. Riding on a battle machine called "Seikishi" he attacks the ship (floating island?) along with his mysterious captors who promised to send him back if he managed to kill the queen.

However they fail when a hidden body guard disrupts their plan, and as the boy, Kenshi, corners the queen, he gives up because he refuses to kill someone. The queen becomes interested in him, and takes him in.

Well thats the lowdown, but i love how this anime manages to throw in comedy that is genuinely funny. Not like other crappy fanservice animes which just make jokes out the girl's chest and or butt.

The plot is also quite good and i found that it became more enjoyable after the first few episodes. Not to mention that they also have some really hot girls. Hey, seeing several pretty faces won't hurt. And while we are also on the subject, i proclaim my self as a fan of mexiah and lashara!

Plot: Interesting and funny. But most episodes were about him adjusting to life at the other world. Bah who cares i love it. 8/10

Characters: Too many characters but many of them are pretty cute. Unfortunately, doesn't explain much of Kenshi's past. Kenshi is so goddamned cute and innocent! 7/10

Graphics: Love how the seikishi is drawn. 7/10

Recommendation:  5/5

Well see you next time Zamasu!

Kotonoha no Niwa

A short film made by Makoto Shinkai (5cm per second, The children who chase lost voices and the place promised in our early days.) Sheesh this man is a genius.

Took another persons picture without permission. I bow my head in apology. I truly am sorry. Heh now we all know i will never just take a picture of google. Oh my god my heart nearly stopped. No pic here go search for it on your own people.

A boy who enjoys making shoes goes to a park during the rainy season. There he encounters a woman who was drinking beer and eating chocolate. When she is bout to leave, she smiles and recites the answer to a tanto (japanese literature), and leaves saying that they may be able to meet on another rainy day.

I have no qualms about the story, i think that it is well written and managed to bring out my emotions within the 46 minute timeframe. It is interesting in its own way, and grabbed my attention because of the chemistry between the main protagonists.

The part i enjoyed the most was the ending. It was so heartfelt and emotional and it made me tear up a little. :)

And as expected of the graphics, they are fantastically detailed. What caught my eye was how detailed the little things were; such as the raindrops and the shoes. They played a subtle role in the movie.

Plot: Pretty good. 8/10

Characters: The movie was too short to go deeper into their pasts but they showed just enough to keep me guessing. 7/10

Graphics: Pretty good. 8/10

Recommendation: 3.5/5 (some people may find it boring)

After watching Anohana i think i became a magnet to depressing yet joful animes. Oh woe is me.

Anohana: The flower we saw that day

I decided to watch this.....and now consider it the most emotional anime ever. Ever.

I don't even remember how many times i cried during the 11 episodes. All of them were so touching and heartbreaking. My words can't possibly describe this Anime. So i'll just stick to reviewing.

The last episode was especially heartbreaking, and i don't care if you like anime or not. Just go and watch this. I kind of feel sorry for the people who say that anime is stupid because they will never get to experience what i did.

Thats how good this anime really is. And i'm so excited for the movie!!

Plot: Simply outstanding. Top on my list for romance and friendship.10/10

Characters: They are lovable in their own way, and as the show went on, i got to see how much menma really affected them. 9/10

Recommendation level: 5/5

Go freaking watch it! The heck are you waiting for??

Shinsekai Yori

I have no words....i think i'm going to cry.

A complex story with heartbreaking twists and turns, and the ultimate question arises. Would you believe in what was taught? Or would you change your fate with your own hands?

I just finished this anime and i can almost feel my heart bursting with all sorts of emotions. This is one of the most truly complex and imaginative series of 2012. Every episode will leave you at the edge of your seat, and i can tell you that something. Always. Happens.

I love how they make use of soundtracks in the anime, and if the scenes didn't evoke much emotions in you, the music certainly will. An absolute must watch for any anime fan, with a solid plot and beautiful animation, you will never ever forget this series.

In a world where misbehaving children are annihilated, what would you do? I believe that this show deeply explores the human minds. Tyranny, greed, fear and love. You want it, Shinsekai yori has it.

And amidst all this, the children of group 1 mature as they encounter various obstacles which threaten their lives, and their friendship grows stronger. Same sex relationships are also a vital part of this story and i think it is also similar to the relationships of same-sex couples in modern Japan.

There are many twists to this story, one of which is the relationship between humans and human-subspecies called queerats. How far would you go to ensure your species' survival?

I really enjoyed the 25 episodes and i wished it was longer! I have also read many reviews for this anime on other blogs such as THE ANIME MAN (wordpress) and etc. I can say that they helped me truly enjoy this series. Although it was confusing and sometimes heart-wrenching, i do not regret watching it. It is definitely an underrated anime.

Most people drop it after seeing the elements of yaoi and yuri embedded in several episodes, but i will push you to continue because you must not miss this. This is also one of those depressing animes which waste no time in enveloping you in its dark atmosphere. I nearly cried after watching a few of the episodes.

Now onto the review!

I ship them so much it hurts!! Go go Maria and Saki!!

Plot: Mind-boggling and fantastic. 10/10

Characters: They mature as the show goes on, and start to change in ways no one expected. Maria and Saki's childhood is really really bittersweet. ;_; 8/10

Graphics: I don't know much about animation nut this one was really top notch. 9/10

Music: They help the plot move and can either envoke joy, fury or sadness. 10/10

I would like to confess that i did cry a little during the last episode. *coughs awkwardly*. I feel like crying again whenever i think of Saki and maria. Episode 16 that scene!! ;_;

Noooo i'm gonna cry!!!!

[C] Money of soul and possibility control

Hehe i finshed another anime series. Well i'm short on time because its exam period so i apologize if it seems too short.

Very epic anime, and the storyline is completely original. It wasn't adapted from any manga. I think that's part of the charm. Now onto the reveiw.

Plot: I would say its very interesting but it can be hard to follow. Some episodes were pretty confusing.7/10

Characters: I quite admire Kimimaro, he sacrifices so much in the show, and learns from his mistakes. I also find Mashu quite cute. 8/10

Graphics: One of the few animes which really has some awesome backgrounds. The financial district is simply mind-boggling. 9/10

Music: I warn you, you will be addicted. 9/10

Well there you have it! On a side note, the opening was sung by  Nico touches the walls, and i must say that it is pleasing to the ears.

Gah so moe!

The Princess and the Pilot

Once again, my love of anime is sparked. Another beautiful movie is engraved into my mind.

Charles is very nicely drawn. So cool!

I have to admit, my first impression of this movie when i saw the poster was "I think its going to be somewhat boring." BUT after watching it my thoughts are completely blown out of the water.

The fact that i didn't have to skip over any part of the movie is evidence enough for me. ;)

I also have to say that the backgrounds in this movie was MIND BLOWING. I have never seen the night sky animated so meticulously, and the plane fights are so fluid it is like watching magic in action.

Now onto the review.

Plot: Simple, straightforward but compelling. But i wished there were more action. Almost an hour was just based on how they met each other and how they escaped the enemy.  7/10

Characters: A little vague, and i didn't like how Charles didn't end up with her. I know its their 'reality' and bla. I found their personalities too soft but it added to the charm of the movie. 7/10

Graphics: Awesome. "But-t it...." No no arguing. Its awesome and thats that. 9/10

Music: Soothing and heartwarming. Love it 8/10

Hidan no Aria Episode 1

I just found such a cute tsundere. Wheee!

This episode was quite funny and i love Aria who jumped from the sky! Moe!!

Kekeke the opening and ending song is also quite soothing to the ears. Rare for me to like the op the first time i hear it. Unfortunately the male character kinda puts me off.

I may put this off for awhile since exams are close. Maybe i'll pick this up at the end of exams who knows. Btw the voice actor for Aria is the voice of louise for Zero no Tsukaima! ;)

Summer wars

Holy mother of gosh. This is fantastic.

The absolute craziness of this movie will just draw you in. You will be on the edge of your seats for the entire thing, i'm not even bluffing on this one.

This really made my day. Summer wars is a romantic comedy bordering on insanity, and the characters are so developed, it makes me wonder about all the movies i have been watching up till now.

Summer wars, is the best experience you will ever have and you will love it to bits.

Now on to the review.

Plot: The simplicity and the sci-fi-ness is the key to the magnificent story. 10/10

Characters: Very interesting characters, they somehow come off as mature. Kudos to the grandmother. But there were a few unexplained parts of the characters, sorta like the backstory. 8/10

Graphics: Very very intense. So beautifully drawn. i'll go out on a limb for this one. 10/10

Music: It evokes your emotions in the battle scenes 7/10

Well there you have it! I highly recommend you guys to watch it. I think it is a very underrated anime movie. The perfect phrase would be diamond in the rough.

5 centimeters per Second

Long overdue movie. Truly an amazing film. After watching this movie, i consider it 62 minutes of pure magic. I'm not even trying to exaggerate this.

The movie poster
I think the perfect word to describe this movie would be "Bittersweet". Separated into 3 stories, it shows the different moments of Takaki Tono, the protagonist of this film.

Story 1 titled " cherry blossoms" shows Tono and his old childhood friend Akari Shinohara conversing with other via post.

Both set a place to meet each other, however due to the snow Tono's train was severely delayed. I liked the way he described the feeling of being stuck in the snow, "Each passing minute felt like an eternity"

However he still makes his way to the station where they both decided to meet, and surprise surprise, Akari was waiting for him. Although i feel that this scene was very cliche, it was touching nevertheless and managed to draw out the happiness of meeting each other. It ends after tono and akari sharing a kiss on the snowy field next to a cherry blossom tree and sending each other off at the train station.

The significance of this scene is when Tono dismisses the letter he lost, which was filled with his unsaid feelings towards her, as insignificant because of the kiss they shared. But Akari takes out her own letter and stares at the leaving train. I didn't realize how important this scene was until the end of the movie.

Tono and Akari walking on the snowy fields.
The second story, called "cosmonaut" is about Tono in highschool and his friend Kanae, having romantic feelings for him. She states that he felt different from the other boys thus making her attracted to him. On the other hand, Tono seems ignorant of her feelings and seems to be emailing someone most of the time. However it is later revealed that he merely writing those emails and did not send them to anyone. There is also scenes which show him thinking of Akari.

At the final part of the story, Kanae finally gives up on Tono because he always seems to be looking far off into the distance, and she realizes that she would not be able to give him what he wanted. She also states that she would never stop loving him no matter how much time passes and cries herself to sleep.

The last story, 5 centimeters per second, shows Tono working as a computer programmer while Akari is preparing to get married. I find this last story very heart breaking because it is actually shows how reality really is. Even though he still loves her, they are already too distant and lead completely different lives.

I didn't really like how it ended, but it reminded me that this is how reality is. Tono somehow looks like he is going through depression and shows us a glimpse of his failed relationships. On the other hand, Akari seems to be at the best point of her life, and is getting married.

Tono and Akari share a dual narration in the last story and they say how they had a dream last night about their last meeting in the snow. One day while walking down a road, they encounter each other at a train crossing. Although they both turned back at the same time, the passing train blocked each other's gazes.

When the train finally passes, Tono looks back to the other side of the railroad only to find no one there. He smiles and starts walking in the opposite direction once more.

This film shows how people can grow apart through time, and how teaches people to stop pining over the past and move forward. A very mature and realistic film. Personally, i think that this movie is both sad and satisfying, because of utter realness of which this movie is based on. Truly a masterpiece.There were many sad quotes as well. ;_;

Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai NEXT

I love Sena! <3

First of all, what the hell happened to the storyline?? Not only did the plot not have any progress throughout the entire 12 episodes, it suddenly ends because Yozora decided to 'go on a journey'.

Really? Really? You expect me to be satisfied with this kind of half assed ending? This sequel does not make any sense. In the last few episodes, Rika suddenly invented iron balls which were controlled by brain waves. Does this have any relation with the school life genre in this Anime?

Since i am a big fan of school life themes, i absolutely hate it when the anime and its character suddenly become so 'magical', meaning that it becomes utterly unrealistic. Don't get me wrong, i'm not complaining that i am angry because it turns magical. I am angry because it was ORIGINALLY non-magical and suddenly decided that hey, lets throw in some unrealistic shit when we are supposed to be normal!

Okami-san and her seven companions

I just finished watching this anime today, and i can sincerely tell you all that i really enjoyed it.

One of the things i love about this anime is the narrator, who occasionally pokes fun at the characters thus providing a comedic relief. I think this is one of the factors that makes this anime enjoyable.

I also like the fact that one of the main characters Ryoshi, grows stronger after going through many difficult trials with the people from Otogi bank. I don't really like to see characters abnormally strong or talented right of the bat because it just kills the effectiveness of the story.

Another great thing about this anime is how deeply the character's past has affected them and made them who they are today. I loved the part when they showed Ryouko's past, it was thrilling yet made me pity her.

Overall this is a good anime. While being mostly comedy, there are some darker undertones to this anime. For example, the delinquent leader said that he was about to have some 'fun' with the main character and the fact that Ryouko's ex boyfriend had attempted to rape her.

Though it is not really visible, it is still there nevertheless. It has a significant role in the story though because it makes the story more serious and heart pounding.

Stare.....
Plot: The ending was quite weak and left me hanging. It didn't address the main issues. 7/10

Character: Quite well developed, but there were too many secondary characters which didn't do anything for the plot although they did help out the main characters. 7/10

Graphics: Pretty good 7/10

Music: I quite like the opening, but the ending didn't really rub me the right way.7/10

Like the saying goes "If you get hooked after the first episode, then you know its a good anime." i think this really applies to this. It wasn't exactly so interesting that i would go gaga over it but it held on my interest until the very end.

It was pretty good compared to others yet it didn't leave me satisfied. Probably because of the rather disappointing ending. But i was quite happy to see the two main characters relationship grow deeper as the ending went along.

Well after watching half of the 12 episodes this series had to offer my thoughts were this: Those characters will never, ever, EVER kiss. I have to admit that i'm a hardcore romance fan and watched many romance animes' and thus came to this conclusion.

But the romance wasn't that bad compared to other romance series where it seemed to be like an endless wild goose chase. Kekeke i hope it gets a second season soon. Doesn't seem likely though.

Okami-san and her seven companions episode 5

Hehe i finally started another anime. After watching Magi i felt like i needed some romance/comedy and stumbled on this anime.
